Local Artisan Perfumer Benjamin Esposito Wins Golden Pear for His Composition "Voices" at the 9th Annual Art and Olfaction Awards
[Los Angeles, May 11, 2023] – The 9th Annual Art and Olfaction Awards, held in Los Angeles on May 11th, celebrated excellence and creativity in independent perfumery worldwide. Among this year's esteemed award recipients was Benjamin Esposito of Huntington Station, who received the highly coveted Golden Pear for his composition, "Voices."
"Voices," created with Elaine Lee under Esposito's brand, House of Mammoth, is a collaborative effort with the Lather Talk podcast, which features Northport native Jonathan Hsieh and his cohost Gerard Gustilo.
Inspired by the captivating aroma of Southeast Asian cuisine, "Voices" captures the essence of the region with its notes of mango, pandan, sticky rice, coconut milk, vetiver, orris, and wood.
As part of their commitment to social impact, House of Mammoth has pledged to donate 10% of each "Voices" eau de parfum sold to Stop AAPI Hate, an organization dedicated to advancing equity, justice, and power by dismantling systemic racism and fighting anti-Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) hate. By supporting this cause, Esposito and House of Mammoth aim to make a meaningful contribution to the mission of creating a multiracial movement that stands against discrimination.
House of Mammoth has donated or raised tens of thousands of dollars to fight human trafficking.
The Art and Olfaction Awards, presented by The Institute for Art and Olfaction, play a vital role in raising interest and awareness for independent and experimental perfumers on an international scale. With only nine prestigious Golden Pear awards bestowed annually, the Art and Olfaction Awards serve as a mark of excellence for independent, artisan, and experimental perfumery practices.
